Death
Funeral services for Roy L. Furr, 62, of Stanfield, were conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at Love's Chapel Methodist Church by Rev. R. E. Sides and Rev. Forest Church. Interment was in the church cemetery. A grocery store operator in Stanfield, Mr. Furr died suddenly Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss McLain Love; one son, Douglas L. of the U. S. Army in Okinawa: one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Duncan of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Charlie H. Furr of Oakboro, Willie S. Furr and Ralph C. Furr of Stanfield: and six sisters, Mrs. F. L. Hathcock of Kannapolis, Mrs. Martha Rinehardt, Mrs. Jennie Tally, Mrs. Dwight Osborne, Miss Zora Furr all of Stanfield, and Mrs. Zeb Springer of Oakboro.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, July 30, 1968
