Death

Bartney Henry Furr, 69, 2611 Lake View Dr., died this morning in a Rome hospital. Mr. Furr was a native of Albemarle, N.C. He was born July 27, 1912, son of the late Henry Wilson and Jennie Tucker Furr, He was a veteran of World War II and was retired president of Bio-Tech in Rome. He was a member of G.E.A.A. and was a former member of the Rome Kiwanis Club. He was a member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors are his widow, the former Louise Parish; two sons, John Bartney Furr and David Henry Furr, both of Rome; two daughters, Kittie Sue Furr, Concord, Calif and Nancy Louise Furr, Rome; one brother, Ward Furr, Rome: four sisters, Mrs. Gene Levesque, Titusville, Fla., Mrs. Frank Haley, Albany, Mrs. J. Skidmore, Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Freeman Russell, Eufala, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Roger Martin officiating. Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Johnny Whitney, Ken Reed, Frank Norment, Gerald Linton, Bill Sweitzer Jr. and Dr. John McDowell.
