Death
T. M. Furr, farmer east of Marlow for 35 years who moved to Purcell three years ago, died in Purcell last Wednesday, Aug. 6. He had been ill most of the past year. His son Otis A. Furr and a daughter Mrs. Ruby Sullivan of near Bray have been spending considerable time at Purcell in recent weeks while their father was in critical condition. Mr. Furr was born at Dover, Ark., and was 74 years, 6 months and 11 days old at the time of his death. His first wife died while they lived east of Marlow 22 years ago. He is survived by 10 children and by his second wife, 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The children are C. H. of Stanford, Texas; Otis A. of Marlow; Mrs. Alta Billingsley and Mrs. Abbie Savage, both of Delano, Calif.; Ray of Hickory, Okla.; Mrs. Sullivan at Bray; Melvin of Dayton, Ore.; Allen of Benitia, Calif.; Wilburn of the home address at Purcell: and a step-daughter, Mrs. Bell Newman of Purcell. Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Nazarene church in Purcell by the pastor, Rev. Palmer. Burial was in the Purcell cemetery.The Marlow Review, Marlow, Oklahoma, August 14, 1947
