Death
Jessie R. Furr, 87, of Oakdale died Saturday at his home. Mr. Furr was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Oakdale 50 years. He was a warehouseman for Contadina Foods for 27 years. He was a member of Teamsters union Local 748. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Furr of Oakdale; children, June Ellis of Oakdale, Betty Genova and Jane Kent, both of Modesto, and Robbie Fleming of Alaska; 17 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
