Death
Funeral services for Ruby Furr Sullivan Points, 87, of Burleson were held Friday, December 7 at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Dr. Mike Milburn officiated. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Duncan, Oklahoma. Mrs. Points died Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at a Burleson care center. She was a retired engineering clerk for Freightmaster, a division of Halliburton. She was born December 13, 1913, in Tidwell, Oklahoma, east of Marlow in Stevens County. She was one of twelve children. She attended school at Thompson and Doyle, Oklahoma. She married John Charles Sullivan on May 2, 1929. To this marriage were born three children, Johna Faye, Jerry and Jimmy. Johnny and Ruby operated small grocery stores in the oil fields east of Marlow, first in the Owens Prairie community, and then at Bray and Marlow. They divorced in 1960. In 1969, Ruby moved to Burleson to be near her daughter and family. In 1976, she married Hugh J. Points of Fort Worth. She worked for Freightmaster for ten years and retired in 1979. After retirement she volunteered for many years for the Burleson Hospice House. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson and the LLL Sunday School Class. Mrs. Points was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Sullivan and Jimmy Sullivan; her ex-husband; her husband; parents; eleven siblings; and a stepsister. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Johna Faye and Kenneth Seawright of Burleson; granddaughter, Cynthia Kimbrough and husband, Bill, of Marlow, Oklahoma; grandsons, Bruce Sullivan and wife, Kristine, of Oklahoma City, Dean Sullivan of Saginaw, Texas, J.D. Sullivan and wife, Kristy, of Olney, Texas, Keith Seawright and wife, Sheri, of Colleyville, Texas, Russell Seawright and wife, Deborah, of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Kendyl Smith, Micah and Morgan Seawright of Burleson, Jonathan and Madison Seawright of Colleyville, Sean Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Timothy Kimbrough and wife, Tina, of Velma, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Rogers of Oklahoma City and Jewell Furr of Oakdale, California; many nieces and nephews. Mountain Valley Funeral Home of Burleson handled the arrangements.Endnotes
