John Henry FURR
(5 Dec 1848 - 5 Jun 1914)
It is said that John Henry left North Carolina because even though the Civil War was over, there was still fighting between Yankees and Southerners. He feared for the safety of his family, so he sought to find a place where it was more peaceful and made his way to Arkansas and later settled in Oklahoma.
