The Sherman Democrat, December 3, 1972: Former Mayor of Ector Dies. Ector-- Funeral services for Robert H. Bellows, 69, former commissioner of precient 1, were held at the North Side Church of Christ in Bonham Monday afternoon with Loyd Butts, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial was in Carson Cemetery. he died Saturday in a Sherman hospital following a short illness, December 2, 1972. Bellows was a former Mayor and City Councilman of Ector. Bellows was born January 26, 1903, north of Ector. He married Miss Mary Bell Cooksey on Octorber 7, 1922. Mr. Bellows had been a farmer, worked as an aircraft machinest during World War II, served as a Fannin County deputy sheriff under former Sheriff Hoyt Ivey and was a county commissioner for 16 years before retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Ector Church of Christ, a past Master of Ector Masonic Lodge 687, and a past Patron of Ector Eastern Star Lodge 895. He was a member of the Royal Arch Mason of Bonham. Mr. Bellows also served on the Ector School Board for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Bell Bellows of Ector; five sons, Heazie and Roy Bellows of Fort Worth, Joe E. Bellows of Ector, Herman W. Bellows of Oklahoma City and Robert Ray Bellows of Denison; three daughters, Mrs. Marietta Snow of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Fannie Shackleford of Fort Worth and Mrs. Vera Ruth Hill of Ector; brothers, D. W. Bellows of Ector, Wayne Bellows of Garland, Taylor Bellows of Vega and Douglas Bellows of Three Rivers; sisters, Mrs. Rossie Carcon of Savoy, Mrs. Wanda Malone of Randolph, Mrs. Iverna Wilson of Ector, Mrs. Ruth Simer of Ector and Mrs. Marie Johnson of Ector, 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were Gary Snow, Ronnie Snow, Ernest Hill, John Hill, Larry Bellows, Billy Joe Bellows, Greg Bellows, David Bellows, Philip Bellows and Darrin Bellows.
