Sallie Annice Kirkpatrick, twin of Rebecca Alice Kirkpatrick was born 9 October 1871 in Monroe County, Mississippi and died 20 October 1953 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. She married on 21 January 1894 to Stephen David Ritter, son of Anderson Douglas and Mary (Gilmore) Ritter. He was born 11 October 1866 in Itawamba County, Mississippi, and died on 8 September 1947 at his home in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Stephen served for sixteen years as the Circuit Clerk of Monroe County, Mississippi. Stephen and Sallie were ambitious for their children to have a good education and sent each of them to Mississippi State Teachers College (now the University of Southern Mississippi) at Hattiesburg, except Annabel, who chose to go to business school.

There were six (6) children born of the marriage.

Oct. 20, 1953. Life long resident was 82. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Sallie Annice Ritter, who died Tuesday morning at the Aberdeen Hospital after a three month illness. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery. Born in Monroe county she spent her life here. She was the widow of Stephen Davis Ritter who served as Circuit Clerk 12 years. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Bright of Amory, MS, Mrs. Walton G. Gray of Atlanta, Miss Nova Lou Ritter and Miss Annabel Ritter of Aberdeen, one son, A. H. Ritter of Amory.
