She was born April 9, 1907, in Itawamba County to Stephen David and Annice Kirkpatrick Ritter. She lived in Monroe County most of her life and graduated from Amory High School. She attended Draughan's Business College in Memphis. She began her business career as an employee of General Motors Acceptance Corp. and worked in Little Rock, Ark., for 17 years. She was one of the first civilian employees hired when Strategic Air Command took over at the Columbus Air Force Base in 1955. She was a secretary-receptionist for nice [nine] wing commanders, retiring in June 1970 after 15 years. She was a member of the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Woman. She enjoyed flower gardening, needlepoint, and watching baseball and football. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Aberdeen with the Rev. Ferrell Cork officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
