LIFE
A. Name Kekaulike Kui Honoikamoku means "He Stands and the Earth is Silent" (Oukah, Hawaiian Royal & Noble Genealogies, p 177).
B. Ruler of Maui (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 132; Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 64). He delighted in war and slaughtered the country people of Hawaii when he was repelled by the army of Alapainui (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 66). He "was an ambitious chief, a lover of war and greedy for rule over Hawaii" (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 75).

D. Died on Maui and buried in Iao in Wailuku (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 136). Died the year that Kamehameha was born, near 1736 (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 210). "he was seized with a violent illness, or epilepsy" when he died at Wailuku in March, 1736 (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 69-70).
