B. "Fornander points out that some genealogists list Ke-ku'i-apo-iwa-nui as the daughter of Keawe-i-kekahi-ali'i-o-ka-moku rather than Ka'ulahea (1969, 2:21 on). John Papa Ii followed the former, as did genealogist Lilikalani. Kamakau elsewhere says, 'See the first history written by Dr. Dibble and David Malo and other pupils at Lahainaluna in 1835. Ulu-maheihei and 'Auwae denied Keku'iapoiwa's descent from Keawe' (1961, 392)." (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 88).
