They sailed on The American Line and landed at the port of Philadelphia around July of 1884. Then took the train to Canby, Minnesota. They arrived in Canby on the 4TH of July, which was being celebrated with firecrackers. No one was at the train station to meet them so Peter went up town to find some one to take them to an aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs Chris Ramlo who lived near Hendricks, Minnesota. When he walked uptown firecrackers were thrown at him. He thought he was being shot at as there were no firecrackers in Norway. He found a neighbor of Chris Ramlo with a team of horses and wagon who offered to take them to Chris Ramlo's. Ingebright changed his last name from Fjeseth to Ramlo being he went to live with the Ramlo's.
