On 29 April 1967, Samuel T. Fidler signed an affidavit, typed, that said:
"An Affidavit of Personal Knowledge and Memory
My paternal grandparents were Rev. Noah Fidler born in Mercer Co., New Jersey, December 31, 1778. He married in Rockingham Co., Virginia,Mary Henton (born in Virginia about 1790) on January 26, 1808. He died Sept. 26, 1849 in Troy, Miami Co., Ohio
Their son (and my father) was Noah Clark Fidler born in Logan Co.,Ohio, on Dec. 1, 1819. He married in Ohio Elsie Jane Livingston (born in Champaign Co., Ohio January 2, 1843) on August 3, 1873. He died in Fair Play, Missouri, April 14, 1898.
Their daughter (and my sister) Alberta Candace Fidler was born June 11, 1874, in Quincy, Logan Co., Ohio. She married in Cedar Co., Mo., James Madison Brown (born Nov. 29, 1870 in Cedar Co., Mo.) on July 18,1892. She died March 15, 1949 in Madera, Calif.
Their daughter (and my niece) was Ruby Elsie Brown born in Cedar County, Missouri, October 31, 1899. She married Frank B. Depew (born Dade Co., Missouri March 21, 1898.) on December 24, 1918 in Visalia, Calif.

" Sam Fidler, 92, Route 2, Fair Play, died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.12, in Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs, after a short illness.
He was a retired farmer and lifelong resident of Cedar County.
Survivors include three sons, Joe and Bernard, both of Fair Play, Paul, of Tulare, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Council, Richmond, Calif., and Mrs. Wilma Jones, Tulare; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in Lindley Prairie Chapel, near Bear Creek, with the Rev. Lewis Mead officiating. Burial was in the chapel cemetery, under the direction of Pitts of Bolivar."
