Death: Jun. 18, 1929

Mrs. Pearl Huntington, daughter of Postmaster and Mrs. E.E. Putnam, of Big Lake, died at her home in this village June 18. She was born in this village November 1886. Here she attended school and church and grew to young womanhood. She was married to John Earl Huntington of Iowa. They built a cozy little home on Powell Street in this village. Mr. Huntington passed away eleven months ago. Since that time Mrs. Huntington having been in poor health for many years previous, seemed to fail gradually during the past few months. Through all of her illness she never complained. The passing of her husband caused such deep mourning that she could not seem to become reconciled and all that the care of loving parents, sisters and brothers and the best of medical help seemed unavailing and she passed into eternity as one who falls asleep.
She leaves to mourn her parents, four sisters, four brothers and many nephews and nieces and a host of friends who extend heartfelt sympathy to the family. The funeral was held from the Huntington residence on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Waller, who spoke very fittingly. Rev. and Mrs. Waller sang the hymns "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God To Thee."
Interment was in Big Lake cemetery. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Miss Violet Doten of Brainerd [a sister], Wm. Putnam of Little Falls, [an uncle], and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Putnam of Monticello [a brother]. The display of flowers were very beautiful including the pieces from the Maccabees [a lodge organization] and the Northern Pacific Railway, Co.
