ABRAHAM "ABRAM" WISHARD
(23 Mar 1779 - 10 May 1843)
Family records of Karen Glasser indicate that the Wishards settled in Deleware, about 17 miles south of Philadelphia PA when they arrived in America. During this time Abram Wishard was born. Probably several of his siblings, Samuel, Annis, Jane, were also born here. Also possibly Henry and Nancy. The family moved to Western PA, near the Old Red Stone Fort near the end of the Revolution, but it's not known which year this was, possibly about 1783.
The 1850 census records do not agree with Karen Glasser's summation. Nancy is the only child that ever gives her birthplace as Delaware. Samuel and Jane both stated they were born in Pennsylvania.
The date shown as the marriage of Abram and Sally is the date of the license.

William Van Benthuson was Administrator. A later exhibit of the condition of the estate of Abraham Wishard was filed in May 1851 by James Clarke, Administrator de bonis non. The birthdates of the children of Abram & Sally were obtained by Peggy Snyder from a Mr. Frank E. Boles of Kansas in the early 1980's. Mr. Boles is deceased. It would appear that these exact birthdates were perhaps recorded in a family Bible. Among the last effects of Sally Reynolds Wishard was a Bible.
Abram and Sarah are buried in the James D. Eberhart Cemetery north of Mt. Auburn.
