Individual Details
William POOR
(1 Nov 1765 - )
There are two marriages for a William Poor in Goochland Co. One was to Molly Sampson, 17 Sep 1771, and seems a bit too early to be the marriage of a man born 1765. Another recorded marriage was for William Poore to Judith Sampson on 15 Aug 1785, and seems most likely to be this William.
William was not yet 21 when his father wrote his will, 9 Oct 1784, but reached his majority before his father died. He was given one half of the land where his father was currently living, a mare, and slaves. William was still living in 1798 when he received his share of the final distribution of his father's estate.
