Leonard L. Avery, 51, of 1813 S. Second, died at Pekin Memorial Hospital Saturday at 3:40 pm. He was a patient two days.
His funeral will be Tuesday at 1 pm at the Kucks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery...
He was born at Rushville, Jan 27, 1916, a don of William and Nora Radinger Avery. He married Clara Pate, May 29, 1937, at Beardstown. He then married Kathy Stebens, June 4, 1960, at Joliet.
He is survived by three daughters, Miss Marilyn Avery and Miss Lisa Avery, both of Pekin; Miss Kathy Avery of Bath; two sons, Leonard Jr and Steven, both of Pekin; five brothers, William James and Herman of Pekin; Isaac of Manito; Arthur of Bearstown; six sisters, Mrs. Metta Lashbrook, Beardstown; Mrs. Josephine Clay, Steeleville, MO; Mrs. Mary McDannald, Chapin; Mrs. Gladys Pagels, Lansing; Mrs. Ruth Ragan, Brookfield and Mrs. Ethel Hill, Pekin.
He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was employed by Caterpillar Tractor until retiring in 1963.
