22 Sep 1739. Nicholas Perkins, 250 acres Goochland Co on both sides of Meadowy Branch of Beaverdam Cr, North side James River, adj Contant Perkins, Timothy Rich dec'd, William Walker & Edward Curd. PB 18, p.433

In 1741, Nicholas was a processioner in Goochland Co. He is said to have served as a Colonel during the French & Indian Wars. About 1755 the family moved to Halifax Co on the Dan River.
