Individual Details

Mary Hardin Perkins

(6 Aug 1754 - 24 May 1798)

Mary Hardin married Thomas Hardeman about 1768. I have seen a date of 17 Dec 1778 for the marriage but several of their children were born prior to that - the first was Isabella Perkins Hardeman, born 8 Oct 1770. They are also said to have married in Goochland Co, but I doubt that given that Mary Hardin's family had moved to Halifax County about the time she was born - they were likely married in Pittsylvania Co.

Tom Hardeman is said to have born 8 Jan 1749 in Albemarle Co VA and died 3 Jun 1833, Williamson Co TN. In 1767 he was listed in the tax records of Pittsylvania Co VA as "John Hardeman's son Thomas". Tom served in the Revolution, moving to Tennessee after the War. After the death of Mary Hardin, Tom married his widowed sister-in-law, Susannah Perkins Marr in 1799 in Tennessee. He is thought to be buried on his plantation, south of Franklin, TN. He apparently owned land in Missouri as Isaac Doty was appointed administrator of his estate there in Howard Co MO on 24 Nov 1834.
