Individual Details

General Francis Marion "Duck" Wyatt

(Ca 1829 - 11 Sep 1904)

His birth year is a question. In 1900, he stated he was born May 1832. In 1860, he was age 25, or born 1835. In 1870 his age suggested a birth year of 1828 - in 1880 it appeared to have been 1827. 1829 has been put on his grave marker.

I think this was the Wyatts, but ages, names aren't quite right - however, there isn't any other couple that's close and in 1910, Jane was living with son Thomas...

"The Banner" (15 Sept. 1904)
In Memorian
Died Sunday, September 11 at 12:30 noon, at the home of his son, Mr. G.F.M.Wyatt, after 12 months illness of paralysis. He bore his affliction patiently and hoped for better times, while kind and gentle hands did all they could to care for him in his last days. He leaves a widow and 8 children to mourn his last days and many friends to grieve. He lived a noble, moral life, always ready to help those in trouble and need. Weep not mother, children and friends, God knows best. He was buried at Providence Cemetery on Monday at his own request. We leave all to Him in Heaven that doeth all things well and sympathize with them who mourn.
Signed: One Who Loved Him
