Individual Details
Richard Waddill
(29 Mar 1725 - Ca 1806)
According to Cabell, Richard is said to have settled in South Carolina. His three sons, after their father's death and near the time of the Revolution supposedly returned to New Kent County, and two subsequently moved on to Charles City Co. Cabell did not offer reasons why he was sure these young men were indeed sons of Richard.
Prichett says that Richard witnessed a deed a Chesterfield Co, 1754, for his father. He bought 204 acres, Prince Edward Co, 21 Nov 1764 and is found as head of household in Prince Edward Co, 1800. There is a will recorded Prince Edward, 1806. There are apparently marriages for a number of his children in Prince Edward - this would preclude him from being the same as the man in South Carolina and seems much more reasonable than Cabells' account.
