NANCY D. NOLAND

Goodspeed's article on Joseph C. Wood gives her name as Mary and her daughter's as Mary C. Both marriage records give their names as Nancy, as does the Census. I think "Mary" was a mistake and they were both "Nancy"
The marriage bond was signed by Wm (X) Winkler, security, Richd (X) Morton
Nancy perhaps did not always give her correct age. Was she covering up the early birth of the oldest daughter Polly?
1830 Madison County KY Census:
Nancy "Winkley" 1 f 30-40, 1 f 60-70 (Clarinda), 2 m 5-10 (Henry & William), 1 f under 5 (???) , 2 f 5-10 (Clarinda & Nancy), 1 f 10-15 (???), 1 f 15-20 (Polly) (Note: there is a female under 5. According to his testimony, she had been separated from Wm 13 years in 1836, since 1823! There are certainly some extra children in the picture. Was there a Sally who married Mordecai Jameson in 1844? She is thought to have been born about 1823.)
Have not found Nancy in 1840 - may have been in transit to Missouri.
US Census 1850, Schuyler County MO: Nancy Winkler, age 50, born KY and in household is Clarinda Noland age 110, born MD. [Only two in household - I think there are errors and Clarinda Noland is approx 80-90 instead. There is a note in the census that Clarinda is ancient, blind, pauper.
US Census 1860, Crawford County AR: Nancy Winkler lived with daughter Clarinda and her husband Thomas Wood. She gave her age as 58.
1870 Census. Nancy was living with daughter Polly & her husband Robert Boulware back in Schuyler Co MO. Her age was given as 74, b. KY.
