Father born Spring Mills Centre County; mother Katherine Spiese born Harris twp, Centre County. Informant is Matthew Goheen [son]. Burial 19 January in Boalsburg Cemetery.Obituary newspaper clipping found in the Goheen Family bible dated Jan 17, 1899.
Death of Mrs, Catherine Woods. Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, Mrs Catherine Woods, an aged lady of Centre county died at her home in Boalsburg, where whe had lived for the last thirty years. She was about 77 years of age and early in life connected herself with the Presbyterian church, in which she was a great worker. She lived an upright, Christian life and had many friends. Her husband died some years ago. Her children are as follows: Dr Geo. Woods, of Pine Grove Mills; Mrs. Dr. Woods, of Boalsburg; Mrs William Goheen, of near Boalsburg; Mrs. Alice Magoffin, who lived with her mother, and Miss Helen Woods, an instructor in a soldiers' home in Maine. Her son Matthew, who was a minister, died several years ago. The funeral took place Wednesday morning.
Probate stated that Matthew W. Goheen was her son age 51 years and residence in Boalsburg. Margaretta M. Tussey her daughter age 42 living in Boalsburg. Personal Estate of $27602.90.

Mrs. Katharine (Woods) Goheen, wife of the late Wm M. Goheen was found cold in death at her home at Boalsburg, on Monday at 4 PM. The actual time of her death well never be known, Mrs. Goheen appeared to be in good health and last week enjoyed a day's trip to Lewistown with her son, and also spent part of Saturday on a shopping trip to Bellefonte with her daughter, and attended services in her home church Sunday afternoon. Monday, about 10 o'clock neighbors notified Mrs.. Goheen walking in the yard. At 4 o'clock that afternoon her daughter, Mrs. Tussey, went to call on her mother, and on entering the house found the fires out and her mother absent. Going to the rear porch she was shocked to find her mother lying fold in death, and result of a heart attack.Just two months ago Mrs.. Goheen had gone to her daughter's home for a short time and on her return found her husband, Wm M. Goheen dead in his chair.
Katharine Woods Goheen was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.. Matthew Woods, and was born at Curwensville, June 6, 1850. January 38, 1875, she was married to Wm M. Goheen. Their married life was spent in the vicinity of Boalsburg, where they have many friends who mourn their passing. Surviving are the two children, Matthew W. and Margaretta, wife of R. Edwin Tussey; four grandchildren, Richard Goheen, Wm., Mary Helen and Katherine Tussey, and these brothers and sisters; Hon.. Cyrus E Woods, Boalsburg; Mrs. Alice Magoflin, Holidaysburg; Miss Helen F. Woods, of San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Goheen was a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years, and her pastor, Rev J. M. Kirkpatrifk, will officiate at the funeral services at the home Thursday at 10:30 AM. Burial in the local cemetery.
