Mrs. Eli Posthuma Sr., passed away at her home here Sunday following an illness of several weeks. She had returned home from the hospital where she had received treatment for a heart ailment.
Mrs. Posthuma was born Oct 5, 1869 in Friesland, Holland, and was married to Eli Posthuma on May 5, 1894. She had reside on farms in this vicinity and in this village since 1905.
Surviving her one brother, Sjouke Dykstra, Fall River- six sons and one daughter, John Posthuma, Henry Posthuma, August Posthuma, George Posthuma, Sjouke Posthuma, Eli Posthuma and Mrs. John Kikkert, all of whom resided in or near Randolph. There also twenty-two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Reformed Church of which she was a member with Rev. Ralph Vander Pol officiating. Interment was in Randolph Cemetery.
