Ezra C Query

BIOGRAPHY: While living in Cloverdale, Indiana (sometime before 1984) , son Arth ur C wrote these words about his father and mother: "Ezra C . Query, born 24 Ma y 1890, married Mellie Lucille Comer on 27 March 1 912. She was the daughter of Emery Comer who was a farmer in Wester n Owen County. Mellie (Comer) Query bec ame a member of the Methodis t Church at Cataract, Indiana and was active in the Ladies Aid. Sh e was, also, active in home gardening. When the Monon railroad buil t a branch line to the coal strip mines, Ezra applied early and afte r a ti me became a section foreman. He worked on the railroad almos t all of his life. He, however, became a Baptist rather than a Metho dist. Ezra liked to hunt sq uirrels. Ezra Query bought a small plac e located near to the Monon tracks abou t one half mile south of Catar act, Indiana. This became his home place. He di ed at the Greencastl e Hospital on 18 March 1941 and his wife Mellie died at the same hosp ital on 13 March 1957. Both are buried at Buckskin (now Mt. Pleasan t ). Ezra and Mellie Query had two sons, Arthur Clyde, born 4 May 191 8 and Russe ll Maurice, Born 23 March 1920." Both of these children w ere childless.
