Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, at St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, for Alma Loecken Hinnenkamp, age 102, of St Martin, who died Wednesday evening at the Albany Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Martin Parish Center. Parish prayers will be 8 p.m. and St. Martin Christian Mothers and the Rosary Sodality will pray at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Parish Center.
Alma was born April 21, 1899, in Spring Hill Township to John and Margaret (Winter) Schoenborn. She attended Spring Hill School and received her diploma from St. Benedict¹s Normal School. She married Peter Loecken on September 22, 1919, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1964. In 1974, she married Joseph Hinnenkamp, he also preceded her in death on February l0, 1984.
Alma was a homemaker all of her life and a social worker for over 20 years volunteering her time with senior citizens and the Tri-Cap organizations. She also served on the Minnesota Governor¹s Advisory Board for Senior Citizens for many years. She was a member of St Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin Christian Mothers and the Rosary Sodality.
She is survived by her children, Bernice Mehr Bible of Waite Park, Priscilla Klassen of Richmond, Joseph Loecken and his wife Terri of New Munich, Eugene Loecken of St. Martin, and Jim Loecken and his wife Liz of Grey Eagle; 5 step-children; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Nathe of St. Cloud.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Mike, Bill, Margaret Nathe, Rose Vaughn, Louis, Harry, Leo, and Joe; granddaughter, Bonnie Loecken; daughter-in-law, Emma Loecken; and sons-in-law, Norbert Klassen, Sylvester Mehr, and Dan Bible.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Bible, Duane Bible, Harold Klassen, Joel Loecken, Randy Loecken and Virgil Loecken. Cross bearer will be Judy Norton and lectors will be Stacy Loecken and Amy Rothstein.
