Melrose--Funeral services will be at 11am Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church for Joseph F Hinnenkamp, 87, of St Martin, formerly of Melrose, who died Friday at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Burial will be in the St Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30pm Sunday at the Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. A parish prayer service will be at 8pm at the funeral home.
Mr Hinnenkamp was born June 29 1896, in Melrose to the late Fred and Elizabeth Hinnenkamp. He married Elizabeth Dickhaus on May 27 1919, in Melrose. She died July 19 1963. He married Alma Loecken July 10 1974, in St Cloud. He farmed near Melrose until retirement in 1961 when he moved to Melrose. In 1974, he moved to St Martin. He was a member of the Melrose Senior Citizens, the St Joseph's Men's Society and St Martin's Catholic Church in St Martin.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Alfred, Elmer and Luverne, all of Melrose; two daughters, Sally Hinnenkamp, Melrose; Mrs Laurence (Viola) Frieler, Melrose; two step-sons, Joseph and Gene Loecken, St Martin; two step-daughters, Mrs Dan (Bernice) Bible, Waite Park; Mrs Norbert (Pat) Klassen, Richmond; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 19 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben F and Henry, and one sister, Mrs Elizabeth Enneking. Pallbearers will be Marvin, Darrell, Glenn and Kenneth Hinnenkamp, Daniel Frieler and Bradley Botner.
