Church records at Elbridge, Onondaga County, New York have her baptized on 5 Jul 1801.
On 30 April 1844 she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Prattsburgh, Steuben County, New York.
In the 1850 Federal Census, Olive Brown is in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York. The household lists: Joseph Brown, age 30; Olive Brown, age 49; Silas Curtis, age 6; Robert Brown, age 28; and Mercy Brown, age 70.
On 29 June 1862 she is baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Marengo, McHenry County, Illinois.
In the 1870 Census, taken on 3 August, she is living with her son Horace Bartlett in Marengo City, McHenry County, Illinois.
The McHenry County Cemeteries, Vol. II: Southwest Townships, page 335 records, "Marengo City Cemetery, Brown, ___________, w/o Joseph, d. 3/10/1872 71y1m2d (broken stone, parts unreadable)."
Obituary: "At the house of her son, Br. Horace Bartlett, in Marengo, Ill., March 10, 1872, of paralysis, Sr. Olive Brown, aged 71 years, 1 month, and 2 days. She was taken with a paralytic stroke while at dinner on the 17th of January preceding, and afterwards till the end came, only had the use of the left side, and but a portion of what she said could be understood. T(S)he was cheerful generally, and expressed her joy when any of the saints came to see her, and in the latter day work. On the last hay [sic] she was asked if she knew that she was dying and wanted to go. She nodded her head, smiled, and took the hand of Sr. Bissell, her daughter, and kissed it. She was identified with the Old Organization, having been baptized by Hervey Redfield, at Prattsburg, New York, May 30th, 1844."
