Sarah (see note) French
(25 Mar 1779 - 8 Mar 1836)
There is a high degree of publication on the internet that the wife of Silas Freeman is a Sarah who sometimes used Sally and that her birth surname was French. There is no known documentation, to this writer, that explicitly supports the contention. The only provided sources are not sources but merely references to other researcher's notes without sources. This may have started out with the valid documentation of the Freeman Family Bible and the Noah French Family Bible. A Sarah birthdate is recorded in handwriting in both family bibles. The French Family bible appears to be 25 May 1779 while the Freeman Family bible appears to be 25 March 1779 or 1778. Probable, but certainly not a valid source.
Sarah's headstone reads "Sarah-Wife Of-Silas Freeman-Died-Mar. 8, 1836-Aged-57 Yrs." In the same burial lot as Silas and Sarah lies an unreadable stone. Could possibly be child Hezekiah or Hannah.
