On Septtember 23, 1891, Bella Schneid, 20 years old, along with her father Jankel, age 44 (Jacob), having no calling and brother Asriel (Isadore) age 16 arrived in New York on board the S.S. Westernland which departed from Hamburg and stopped at Antwerp. They left Hamburg on September 8, 1891. He registered for the World War 1 Draft on September 12, 1918 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was living at 113 S. Elm St. He was a scrap iron merchant and was blind in his left eye. He stated that he was born on December 1, 1877.Census (family)

the following was found on Findagrave.com"He came to the US when he was 13 years old. He first settled in Chicago but in 1903 located in Hutchinson after traveling all over the US and part of Canada looking for a business location. He first established an iron and metal business in Hutchinson but later went into the lumber business."
