On Aug 9, 1892 Awdoeshe Schmidt (Yetta, Dena) boarded the SS German Empire in Hamburg, Germany and traveled to West Hartlepool, England. She then took a train to Liverpool England where she boarded the SS Nevada and sailed to New York City. She probably took a train from Mariampol, Lithuania to Hamburg.Marriage
One of the relatives claimed that Jacob was previously married and that Dena Smith was his second wife. It is now verified; the marriage certificate indicates he was a widower.Census (family)

The following obit appeared in the May 2, 1965, Daily Oklahoman on Page 25:"Services for Mrs. Yetta Berenson, 91, of 4717 Steanson Dr. will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hahn-Cook Funeral Home with burial in Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery. She died Saturday in St. Anthony Hospital. A native Of Lithuania, Mrs. Berenson was a former resident of Wichita, Kan. She was a member of Emanuel Synagogue and the Hadassah Organization in Oklahoma City. Survivors include a son, Max of Fort Smith. Ark, and two daughters, Mrs. Joe Kamenesky and Miss Sarah Berenson, both of the home. Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Synagogue, Hadassah Organization, or other organizations as desired."
