Lyle R. Thompson, 59, of rural Osceola (Township of Alden) died Friday in St. Paul.
He was born April 15, 1927 in the Township of Alden to Sam and Tilda (Walby) Thompson.
He married Diane Johnson in Star Prairie on Dec. 1, 1956. He worked in the Domain Feed Mill for 36 years.
Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gene Thompson.
Survivors include his wife Diane and five brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Dale of Star Prairie, Norris of New Richmond, and Daryl, Dean and Wayne, all of Star Prairie. The sisters are Mrs. Fern Wells of Star Prairie,
Mrs. Mae (Dale) Larson of Star Prairie, Mrs. Betty (Paul) Singerhouse of New Richmond, Mrs. June (Curtis) Field of New Richmond and Mrs. Suzanne Hanson of New Richmond.
Services were Monday at West Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Thompson, who served in the Korean War, was also given military honors by the Butler-Harmon Post 80 in New Richmond. Burial was in the New Richmond Cemetery.
Lyle liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed being a hobby farmer; he also enjoys his trips to Las Vegas where he was a fequent winner on the slot machines. He attended Pine Lake School and Cedar Lake School.
