Diane A. Thompson age 76 of Star Prairie died Friday, September 4, 2009 at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond. She was born the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Gartman) Johnson on August 14, 1933 in Somerset.
Diane attended various schools in the Somerset and New Richmond area. She worked at DoBoy plastic plant, Fabritech in Amery, Friday’s and St. Croix Press and was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. Diane enjoyed being with her family, especially the family picnics at Swede Lake and Halvorson Park. She liked to have coffee everyday at the Lowrey Hotel, play cards, crochet and can pickles and tomatoes. Diane is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ralph A. Studtmann and Lyle R. Thompson; siblings, Teresa Sciesinski, Evelyn (Gordon) Green, Kathryn (Orville) Waldroff, twin-Donald Johnson, Louise Sachs, Margaret (Severe) Careful; and nephews, Robert Johnson and Nathan Johnson. She is survived by her sisters, Gloria (Howard) Bottolfson of Star Prairie, Jean (Ollie) Reidle of Oakdale, MN, Mary Thompson of Star Prairie; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Harvey Sachs; sister-in-law, Marlene Johnson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Studtmann family Ed (Lois), Norma, Mildred, Lorraine, Leona, Thompson family Mae (Dale), Betty (Paul), June, Wayne (Idell) and Sue (Gary). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm at West Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osceola. Memorial visitation was also held on Tuesday from 1-2 pm at church. Interment will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Arrangements were with Beebe Mortuary of New Richmond.
