Nedre Stjørdal parish marriage records state Berit was born in Stjørdal, however, in the 1865 census her birthplace is given as Selbu. According to the Selbu bygdebok (Selbu I Fortid of Nätid by Kjell Haarstaad and Per O. Rød, Bind IV), Berit, the daughter of Anders Jonsen and Kari Olsdatter Kolsetplassen was born in 1821 and left for Stordalen in 1842. No baptism record was found in Selbu or Stjørdal for the period 1820-1821.
