Lomnes dies in his sleep
Carl Lomnes, 36, and an employee of the Hudson shops, died in his sleep early Wednesday morning at his home at 510 Division street. His death was discovered by his sister Zelma Lomnes when she went to awaken him about 10 a.m.

Funeral Services for Carl Lomnes Held Here Last Friday Afternoon
Carl Lomnes died suddenly at his home at 510 Division street early Wednesday morning, March 18, from a chronic heart ailment. He was born in Hudson on August 15, 1902 and has always lived in this community.
After completing his education he entered the employ of the Omaha Railway shops here where he worked up until the time of his death. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Martha Neher of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. Marie Hanson of Billings, Mont., and Miss Zelma Lomnes of Hudson; and three brothers, Elmer of Bayport, and Philip and Alex of Hudson. He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Peterson) Lomnes.
Funeral services were held at the Jasper Funeral Home Friday afternoon, March 20, Dr. Ernest W. Wright officiating. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery. The pall bearers were Sig Lee, John Ross, George Zahler, Victor Martinson, Max Gartman and Oscar Sandberg.
