Alexander Lomnes, 68, 510 Division st., died at Hudson Memorial Hospital, Monday, Jan. 16, after suffering a stroke. He was hospitalized for two weeks.
Funeral services were at the Burke-Swanson Funeral chapel Monday with the Rev. Gerben Van Putten officiating. Visitation was Sunday night.
Burial was in Willow River cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerome Lomnes, Byron Neher, David Kvarnes, John Ross, Ed Christoph and Ed Swanson.
Alexander Lomnes was born in Hudson, March 29, 1898, the son of Andrew and Mary (Peterson) Lomnes.
He spent his entire life in this community. He attended local schools.
During World War I he served in the U. S. Navy from May 2, 1918 to August 6, 1919.
He never married. He made his home with his sister, Zelma.
He was employed as a signal crewman for the Chicago Northwestern railroad for a number of years, retiring in 1955.
Surviving is a sister, Zelma of New Richmond and two brothers, Philip of Hudson and Elmer of Bayport.
