Leo C. Axt

Leo C. Axt, 88, a resident of Hudson for many years, died Saturday, October 13, at the Hudson Rest Home.
He was born September 19, 1868 in Menomonie, the son of Leo and Wilhelmina Axt; and received his education in the public schools at Hudson.
On October 31, 1900 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Haggerty in Minneapolis, who preceded him in death December 18, 1929 at Hudson. On September 27, 1942 he married Mrs. Grace Thelander, who died in Hudson in December 1953, Until his retirement in 1937 he was employed as a painter for the railroad.
He was a member of the Hudson Methodist church and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America.
Survivors are three daughters: Genevieve (Mrs. Joseph Gartmann), Hudson; Natalie (Mrs. Herbert Barker), White Bear; and Lorrayne (Mrs. Raymond Gordamier), St. Paul; one sister, Mrs. Charles Blewett, Minneapolis; two brothers, William of Superior and Fred of St. Paul; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, from the Jasper-Kramer Funeral Home with Rev. Homer A. Fintel officiating. Pallbearers were William Shern, Richard Gartmann, Sherman Sutter, Philip Beaudry, Felix Marino and James Bibeau. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery.
