Otto Axt Funeral Friday; Resident Here for 70 Years
Otto Axt, 74 years old and a resident of Hudson for the past 70 years, died at his home, 1307 Sixth St., early Tuesday morning, January 8.
Mr. Axt was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on May 29, 1877, the son of Leopold and Minnie Axt. He was married to Edna McConnell on September 27, 1911 at LeSueur, Minnesota. He was employed 40 years as a sheet metal worker in the Omaha car shops here, retiring in 1942. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Sheet Metal workers of America and the Omaha Benefit Association.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Mrs. Phillip Beadry (Ruth), Hudson, and Mrs. Clark Michaelson (Janet), Fresno, California; four brothers, Leo of North Hudson, Fred of St. Paul, William of Superior and Frank of Los Gatos, California; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Blewette of Minneapolis and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Jasper Funeral Home, Rev. Lloyd Asp of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was made in Willow River Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Eugene Beaudry, Jos. Gartmann, Ole Sodal, J. W. Burkholder, Carl Redman and S. N. Swanson.
