Mrs. L. C. Axt died at her home in the northern outskirts of this city Tuesday afternoon, her death following a year of poor health. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Axt, Eighth Street near St. Croix, this afternoon, Friday, August 10, at two o'clock.
Minnie Engenbig was born at Westfelden, Germany, Feb. 16, 1846. Her marriage to Leo C. Axt was celebrated in that country and they came to this country in 1870, settling first at Menomonie, going later to Stillwater and in 1880 to Hudson. Mr. Axt died March 7, 1905. Mrs. Axt is survived by seven sons and two daughters -- Leo C. Axt, Otto Axt, Edward Axt of Hudson, Mrs. J. C. Armstrong of Mankato, Minn., J. A. Axt of Amboy, Minn., Frank Axt of Everett, Wash., Mrs. Charles Blewett of Minneapolis, William Axt of Superior, Fred Axt of St. Paul, all of whom were here in her last illness. The burial will take place in Willow River Cemetery. Six of her sons will act as pall bearers. Out of town relatives who will attend the funeral are Mrs. William Axt of Superior, Charles Blewett of Minneapolis and Mrs. J. Axt of Amboy.
