Max Gartman and Ruth Wolf Married
Miss Ruth Wolf, daughter of Mrs. Herman Heidman, and Max Gartman of St. Joseph township, were married at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 7, Judge Thos. E. Garrity officiating. The bride and groom were attended by Miss Augusta Gartmann and Alfred Wolf. For the ceremony the bride was attired in a wine velvet dress with hat to match and her attendant was dressed in brown silk.
After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Gartman will make their home in Houlton.

Theresa told me that she and Myrtle had a shower for Ruth when she got married.

Max Gartman underwent a serious operation for gall stones at St. Joseph's Hospital Monday.

Last Saturday evening the Art Lindstroms, Mrs. W. Heideman and family and Miss Hazel Moe helped Miss Virginia Gartman of Hudson celebrate her fifth birthday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Gartman.

Max Francis Gartman, 83, of 1323 Sixth street, died Oct. 17 at the Hudson Memorial hospital.
Mr. Gartman was born March 31, 1895 in St. Joseph township the son of Joseph Anthony and Ann (Friend) Gartmann.
He was 11 months in the service during World War I. After he was discharged, he farmed on the home farm until he married Ruth Wolf Nov. 7, 1936 in Hudson.
After he was married, he was employed as a wood machinist at the Chicago
Northwestern car shops in North Hudson. He worked there 19 years, and for two years he worked in the Minneapolis car shops.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church.
Besides his wife, Ruth, he is survived by one daughter, Virginia Gartman of River Falls; three sisters, Augusta Gartmann of Hudson, Mrs. Carl Johnson (Margaret) of St. Paul and Mrs. Harry Dierks (Theresa) of Hudson.
Services were Friday, Oct. 20, at St. Patrick's church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Keilen officiating. Interment was in Salem Lutheran cemetery at Stillwater.

Robert Eugene Gartmann of Hudson, Richard Gartmann of Minneapolis, Leslie and
Donald Lindstrom of rural Hudson
