Francis (Frank) Gartmann

(15 Jun 1888 - 15 May 1893)

Frank died ten years before Theresa was born but she remembers her mother speaking of him. He stayed with his grandmother, Augusta Friend, in Hudson quite a lot and died at her home in Hudson. Theresa thought he might have contacted diptheria. Her mother had made him a little blue velvet suit that he so pround of and that's what he was buried in. He was almost five years at the time of his death.

Frankie Gartmann, a four years old son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Gartmann, of the town of St. Joe, died at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Friend, in this city, Monday, May 15, cause of death unknown. (HST, 19 May 1893, p4, c2)
