Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph A. Casanva, Coulee Rd., who died Saturday, June 8, at St. Joseph's Home in River Falls, were Tuesday morning at St. Patrick Catholic church.
The rites were conductd by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Canfield.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James F. Bannon, Thomas Carney, Albert Trieb, John D. Hooley, Harold Nygard and Clyde Ferguson.
Catherine Karras, the daughter of Robert and Catherine Karras, was born December 18, 1876 in the town of Hudson.
She was married at Hudson, February 23, 1897 to Joseph A. Casanova, who preceded her in death in 1946.
Mr. Casanova, with his brother, the late Chris Casanova, founded the Casanova Beverage company in Hudson in 1896.
Mrs. Casanova was an active member of St. Patrick's church, the National Council of Catholic Women, the Order of Martha and the Women's Relief Corps.
She is survived by six children; Mrs. Peter Ryan, Mrs. N. J. Delmonico, Leonard and Raymond, all of Hudson; Dr. John R. of Watertown, Wis., and Mrs. L. G. Baumgartner of Rosemount, Minn. There are 10 grandchildren and 18 great children.
Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the rites were from River Falls, New Richmond, Racine, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Oconto, Oconomowoc, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Stillwater, South St. Paul, Rosemount, Winona, and Sioux Falls and Madison, South Dakota.
