Death
Donald P. Furr Aug. 5, 1912-Aug. 3, 2003Donald P. Furr, 90, Mellott, died 9:58 a.m. Sunday in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. Mr. Furr was a farm hand for Warren Graves farm, Hillsboro, and was also employed with Nationals Homes and Burger Steel, Lafayette, and Harrison Steel Castings Company, Attica before retiring from Radio Material Corporation at Attica. His memberships included Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. He attended school at Kingman. He was born Aug. 5, 1912, near Kingman, to Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. He married Esther Ann Cook Dec. 7, 1935, at Veedersburg. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Donald, Newtown, Marvin, Attica and Terell, Kingman; four daughters, Beverly Levaseur, Fort Fairfield, Maine, Carolyn Coffing, Crawfordsville, Janice Boman, Kingman, Sharon Davis, Wheatland, Calif.; two brothers, Eugene, Danville, Ill., and William, Waynetown; three sisters, Katherine Keller, Lafayette, Mary Margaret Austin, Mellott, and Florence Epperson, Auburndale, Fla.; twenty one grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. One son, three brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter proceded him in death. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call Tuesday noon-2 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of the American Heart Association.
