Death
Crawfordsville Journal Review 1-Sep-1970 p 3 -- Miss Betty Jean Furr, 49, a former Newtown resident died at 2:25 a.m. Monday in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis where she had been a patient since May. She had lived the last several years in New Castle. Born March 26, 1921, at Wallace, she was a daughter of Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. Surviving are her mother, of Newtown; six brothers, Everett of Montezuma, Eugene of Stone Bluff, Donald of Newtown, Leroy of Lafayette, William of Waynetown and Kenneth of Oldsmar, Fla; and four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Keller of Lafayette, Mrs. Margaret Keller of Gessie, Ind, Mrs. Claudine Weber of Veedersburg and Mrs. Florence Epperson of Auburndale, Fla. Her father and a sister preceded Miss Furr in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. George Phelps officiating and burial in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.Endnotes
