Death
FISHERSVILLE - Ruth Juanita (Furr) Wrenn, 96, widow of Leroy E. Wrenn, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 17, 2004) in the Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. She had been residing in the Shenandoah Nursing Home, Fishersville. She was born on Feb. 17, 1907, at Burktown, a daughter of the late Oscar A. and Cornelia (Snow) Furr. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Wrenn was employed by Joseph Neys as a sales associate, buyer and special fitter. She was a member of Weyers Cave United Methodist Church. Her husband of almost 40 years, to whom she was married on June 8, 1919, preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1969. She was also preceded in death by a son, Beverly F. Wrenn, on Dec. 18, 1982; a granddaughter, Debra W. Branch, on Dec. 31, 1995; four sisters, Mary Lee Diehl, Janie Saufley, Elna Brown and Anna Whissen; and two brothers, Stanley "Buzz" Furr and Robert "Bob" Furr. Mrs. Wrenn was the last surviving member of the Furr family. Family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Edward L. and Shirley J. Wrenn; a special sister-in-law, Novella Furr of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and special friends Dallas and Linda Hemp of Middlebrook. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Weyers Cave United Methodist Church by the Rev. Wesley Thornberry. Burial will follow in the Weyers Cave Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons - Tommy Wrenn, Barry Wrenn, Dale Wrenn, Steven Branch, David Wrenn, Brian Wrenn and grandson-in-law Harry East.
