Death

Marvie Magdalene Furr, 64, of Aberdeen died on Saturday (April 16, 2005) at her home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Aberdeen First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Horace Warwick and the Rev. Ronnie Nichols officiating. Burial followed at Highland Baptist Church Cemetery in Vass. The family received friends on Monday, April 18, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst. Born in Moore County to the late Joseph and Marvie Boyd Furr, she attended Aberdeen First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Aberdeen. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Furr and Ray Furr. She is survived by her son, Floyd “Marty” Carpenter of Raeford; daughters, Jettie Hinson Carthage and Flora Jane Tyndall of Raeford; brothers, James William Furr of Ocala, Fla., Joseph Melvin Furr, Joe Fulton Furr and James Guthrie Furr, all of Vass, and Thomas Furr of Southern Pines; sisters, Brenda Lisesenby of Vass; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is serving the family.
