Death

VASS -- Ray Junior Furr, 64, of Vass died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Powell Funeral Home & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Roland Reynolds and Thomas Snuffer. Burial will be in Johnson Grove Cemetery. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, Margaret W. Furr of Vass; a son, Kenneth R. Furr of Lakeview; three daughters, Donna Dixon of Siler City, Cathy Harris of Southern Pines and Angela Furr of Whispering Pines; six brothers, J.W. Furr of Florida, Thomas Furr of Pinehurst, Bobby Furr of Fayetteville and Melvin Furr, Joe Furr and James Furr, all of Vass; two sisters, Magdelene Furr of Southern Pines and Brenda Lisenby of Vass; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
