Death
VASS — Joe Martin Furr, 67, died Friday of a heart attack. The funeral will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Highland Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Daniels and the Rev. Roland Reynolds. Burial wilt be in the church cemetery, He was a retired employee of the Pinehurst Hardware and Supply Co. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marvie Boyd Furr; two daughters, Mrs. Magdaline Carpenter and Mrs. Brenda F. Lisenby, both of Vass; seven sons, Bobby Furr of Hope Mills, James G. Furr, James W. Furr, and Rayvionde Furr, all of Southern Pines, and Melvin Furr, Ray Furr and Joe Furr, all of Vass; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Stewart, Mrs. Bertha Priest and Miss Rosa Furr, all of Vass; three brothers, Jim Furr of Richmond, Angus Furr of Asheboro, and Henry Furr of Vass.The Herald-Sun, Durham, North Carolina, September 28, 1975
