Death
Mrs. Arie Lee Furr Parnell, 84, of 943 Central Drive, Concord, N.C., died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at her residence. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Farley officiating. Entombment will be in Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Parnell was born Jan. 27, 1914, a daughter of the late M.C. Furr and Dixie Burleson Furr. She was a member of West Concord Baptist Church and was a retired winder for Randolph Mills. She was the widow of James E. Parnell. Survivors include a son, James L. Parnell of Orangeburg; a daughter, Mrs. Gail P. Starnes of Concord; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Gail P. Starnes, 3406 Rock Hill Church Road, Concord. The family suggest memorial may be made to West Concord Baptist Church, 09 White Strest, Concord, N.C. 28025.The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, South Carolina, October 16, 1998
