Death
Funeral rites for Mrs. Dixie Burleson Furr, 67, wife of M, C. (Bud) Furr of Albemarle, route 3, were held Friday afternoon at 3:30 in Bear Creek Baptist church, EIder C. M. Mills of Charlotte officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Furr died at home Thursday night about 7 o’clock following a heart attack. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billie Burleson of Stanly county, and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist church. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Craven and Edward Furr of route 3; five daughters, Mrs. Adam Smith, Mrs. Fred Barnhardt, and Mrs. Hardy Hatley, all of route 3; Mrs. W. H. Poplin of Richfield, and Mrs. James Parnell of Concord; two brothers, Shem and Jap Burleson of the Canton section of Stanly.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, October 1, 1940
